The Pilgrim
The Pilgrim, Chaplin's last released
film for First National , was released on February 23, 1923. This is an
excellent must see film that combines much laughter with great location
work. One of my all-time-favorite Chaplin film scenes is the tea party
scene where the horrible kid, played by Dinky Dean (Riesner), totally puts
the screws to Charlie & Sydney. The film is worth seeing just for this
horribly amusing scene. Want to know more about Dean Rieser? Check out
the must read article about him in the Winter 1997 issue of Limelight.
