A Woman of Paris premiered on
October 1, 1923 at the Criterion theater in Hollywood. This film found
Chaplin behind the cameras and brought stardom to Adolphe Menjou. It's
a moving story of love gone awry for a pretty country girl played by Edna
Purviance. If you look closely, you'll see Charlie in a brief scene at
the train station. Critics loved the film then and loved it more when it
was re-released with a wonderful score written by Chaplin. Here's a big
photo of the NOW location.
